L. Thurstin

L. Lorraine Thurstin, 85 of Clearfield died on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on August 26, 1923 in Olanta, a daughter of the late Alex and Vada (Bumbarger) Boyle.
Mrs. Thurstin owned the Clearfield Coffee Shop for 7 years until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church and was the first secretary of the Christian Women's Club, having served for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, C. Leslie Thurstin, whom she wed October 9, 1942 in Clearfield by Rev. Homer E. Gauntt,
five grandchildren,
Kyle, Lee, Brannon, Shannon, Shawna
three great grandchildren,
a sister,
Barbara of Clearfield
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William and Kenneth Thurstin, two brothers, Roy and James Boyle and a sister Mary Kay Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at
1:00 P.M. with Rev. Alison W. Grove officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8:00 PM and on Saturday from Noon-1 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville United Methodist Church, 602 State Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
