Larry Putt

Larry A. Putt, 72, of Clearfield died on Thursday, December 1, 2022 Hershey Medical Center.

He was born on August 12, 1950 in Clearfield, a son of the late Cecil and Eleanor (Jones) Putt.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on on the U.S.S. Biddle. Larry was a member of the F. Michael Sicks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785, Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 where he served as commander in 1990, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, Clearfield and the Clearfield Sons of Italy Lodge. Larry was a founding board member of the Lawrence Township Recreation Board, He also served on the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors for 19 years and was currently serving as president until his passing. In addition, he served on the Central Intermediate Unit Board, the Clearfield Community Swimming Pool Association for many years and coached little league for 15 years. Larry was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #314 of Clearfield, the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Williamsport, and the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona.

Larry began employment at County National Bank, Clearfield in1968 and retired in 2015

He is survived by his wife, Margaret 'Lady' (Coudriet) Putt; three children, Stephen Putt and wife Michelle of Greenville, Daniel Putt and wife Denise of Clearfield, and Sheri Daugherty and husband Andy of Brockway; nine grandchildren, Nicholas and Corrine Putt, Issac, Curtis and Dylan Putt, and Caleb, Ava, Jacob and Emma Daugherty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Putt; and a brother, Bill Putt.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM.

Larry would be most pleased that, in lieu of flowers and gifts, contributions be made to a local sporting club of your choice, or to the Family House of Pittsburgh, 5308 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
