Lavena M. Hughney, 101 of Clearfield died on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Knickerbocker Villa in Clearfield.
She was born on February 1, 1907 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Aime and Nettie (Coudriet) Hugney.
Miss Hughney had been employed for many years as a real estate broker and notary public by Staples Realtor, Culver City, CA. She was also employed by Kelly's Real Estate.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville.
She is survived by two sisters,
AnnaBelle Mraz of Clearfield
Lena Gormont and husband Lewis of Frenchville
two sisters-in-law,
Iola Hugney of Frenchville
Kathleen Hugney of Frenchville
and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helena Magnuson and Mary Jane Mizwa and three brothers, Cornelius Hugney, Ferd Hugney and A. Sylverius Hugney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Samuel G. Bungo as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Mary's Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from
4-6:00 PM
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 PM
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, PO Box 159, Frenchville or to the charity of one's choice.
