Lemoyne Byron Westover, 93, of Clayton, CA and formerly of Midland, Mi and Curwensville, PA, died on Sunday March 13, 2022 at the John Muir Hospital in Concord, CA.
He was born on August 12, 1928 in Curwensville, PA, son of the late Amos Herald Westover and Iva Mabel (Phillips) Westover.
He died after a short battle with pneumonia.
He graduated from Dickenson University and had a master’s degree from Penn State University. Lemoyne retired from Dow Chemical after 34 years working as an analytical chemist in Michigan and California. Gardening and woodworking were his passions. He had quite the green thumb, and sent wooden tops to underprivileged children around the world. He also donated to 45 elementary school teachers in Aiken, SC in honor of his wife.
He is survived by his three children, Ginger (Charlie) Guthrie, Lee (Rebekah) Westover, and Betsy Westover; and two grandchildren, James and Katherine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty, and two brothers and two sisters, Herald, Bernadine, Avanelle, and DeVaughn.
No services will be held at his request. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
