Lester W. Graham, 85
of Clearfield passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
Born on September 12, 1923, Lester grew up in Woodland with his father William Graham and mother, Mabel (Turner) Graham, a twin sister, Leona (Graham) Van Hoyweghen, and an older sister, Helen (Graham) Brown. His other sister, Charlotte died as a child.
Lester served in the U.S. Navy and upon returning to the area, married Marjorie M. Elbell on September 5, 1938. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He worked for Miller Dairy Co. for almost 18 years until their closing. He was known by all his customers as Pappy. After that, he cut lawns and did landscaping as long as he was able.
Lester was a pleasant man to everyone, yet strong in his convictions and true to his word. He was a good man in very sense.
He is survived by his son, William A. Graham and his wife, Joan, of Florrisant, CO and their children Dave, Sean and Amanda Graham, his daughter, Sharon L. Hy and her husband, Robert, of Clearfield along with his grandchildren, Ryan Kassab, Shannon Kassab, Rebecca Hy and Layne Hy.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie, in 2007. Others who have passed on before him were his sister, Helen and an infant child, Shirley Ann Graham.
It is his granddaughter Laynes prayer that Pap Pap, Grammy and Shirley are all together in heaven. Lester will be missed. Our loss is heavens gain.
At the request of Mr. Graham there will be no visitation or funeral services.
