Lewis J. Cillo, 88, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on July 7, 1924 in Clearfield, a son of the late John and Frances (Toney) Cillo.
Mr. Cillo was employed at the Clearfield Hospital for 27 years. Prior to that, he had worked on the New York Central Railroad.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and also a former member of the American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, Clearfield.
A veteran of WWII, Mr. Cillo served with the U. S. Army.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian R. (Barone) Cillo on September 28, 2001 and whom he wed July 5, 1947 in Clearfield. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Carfley, Caroline Barone and Thelma Cillo; and a brother Michael Cillo.
A memorial mass will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday, April 27, 2013 with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st Street Clearfield.
