Lewis Demi

Lewis E. Demi Jr., 86 of Clearfield died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

He was born on March 23, 1923 in Greensburg, a son of the late Lewis E. and Carrie (Brady) Demi.

Mr. Demi retired from the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel with over thirty years of service. During WWII, he served with the US Marine Corps for four years. He was also employed with the Central Pennsylvania Conference United Methodist Church Staff for ten years retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield and a past president and member of the Clearfield Lion's Club.

He is survived by three daughters, Betsey McDermott and husband Paul of Clearfield, LuAnn Demi of Clearfield, Jodi Morelli and husband Chris of Pleasant Gap; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Michael and Meagan McDermott, Emilee and Noah Brown, Jakob and Madalyn Morelli; a sister and two brothers, Dolores Ogden of Clearfield, Gordon Demi of Clearfield and Drexel Demi of Curwensville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor J. (Stegner) Demi on October 13, 2007 and whom he married May 23, 1959 in Clearfield.

Funeral services will be held at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Saturday at
11 AM with Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be in the Stoneville Cemetery, Clearfield, RD.

Military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and Clearfield VFW Posts honor guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-8 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield or to the Nathaniel D. Yingling MD Cancer Center, c/o Terri Polachek P.O. Box 992, Clearfield.
