Lex W. Curry Jr., 78, of Clearfield, formerly of Curwensville, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on April 22, 1946 in Clearfield, a son of the late Lex Sr. and Mary (Harchuck) Curry.
Lex was a 1965 graduate of Curwensville High School and also earned his Associate's Degree in Drafting from the Williamsport Area Community College. He was employed for over 20 years with the Curwensville Municipal Authority and then employed by PennDOT, retiring as Bridge Inspector Manager.
He was a member of Curwensville United Methodist Church as well as the Glenn Richey Sportsmen's Club. Lex was highly involved with the Free and Accepted Mason's, being an active member as well as a past Master of the Noble Lodge #480 of Curwensville. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America Bucktail Council, serving as a committee member and chair as will as Assistant Scout Master.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Campbell) Curry; one daughter, Tenley Barrett and husband Brian of Grampian; a granddaughter, Lexi Barrett; and numerous other family members whom he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ian Curry in 2015; and a brother, David James Curry.
Funeral services will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church, Curwensville on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday from 3-7 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 AM. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville United Methodist Church, 602 State Street, Curwensville, PA 16833 or to the Bucktail Council, Boy Scouts of America, 209 1st Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
