Lloyd W. Wunder, 85

of Clearfield died on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on June 10, 1918 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Albert and Catherine G. (Tomes) Wunder, Sr.

Mr. Wunder was raised in Philadelphia and later moved to Beach Haven and Manahawkin, NJ. He was formerly employed by the Philadelphia Transit Company in the shop as a trolley operator and bus driver. While working as a US Postal Carrier from 1960 until his retirement in 1980, he was the first mailman in Manahawkin, NJ area setting up the original mail route. After retirement, he moved to Lady Lake, FL and then to Clearfield.
He was a former member of Free and Accepted Masons, the Loyal Order of Moose, Knights of Pythias, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, and was a 32nd Degree Shriner and secretary in the Tall-Cedars of Lebanon.
He attended the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, Clearfield and was a volunteer in the Friendly Visitors, Inc. on Manahawkin. He was a Cub Scout Master, equipment manager of the Manahawkin Little League, a fire auxiliary volunteer and for many years delighted all as Santa Claus.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Rexer) Wunder, whom he married August 17, 1939 in Philadelphia

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Gerard E. Smith, a brother Albert E. Wunder, sisters-in-law Mary Lucille Wunder, Mildred H. Lawson and Jean M. Scheutz, and a brother-in-law Thomas Lawson

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Thomas Searfoss officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8:00 PM and Friday from 10-11:00 AM.
