Lois H. Butch Blowers, 80, of 516 Elm Avenue, Clearfield passed over to Glory by the Grace of God and her faith in Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Clearfield Hospital.
Lois was born July 1, 1925 to H. Melvin Hummel and Helen J. (Lucas) Hummel at home in Philipsburg. Both parents preceded her to heaven as well as her husband Ray on November 14, 2002.
She graduated from Philipsburg High School in 1943.
On May 31, 1944 she married Raymond L. Blowers in the Philipsburg United Methodist Church.
Lois attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, returned to Philipsburg and worked as a secretary at a local coal company.
In 1950 Lois and Ray moved to Clearfield to the home they shared for more than 55 years. She became the mother of six children over the years.
During the 70's and 80's, Lois drove special needs children to school for the CIU in Clearfield.
In 1969 she became a charter member of Calvary Independent Bible Church, now known as Riverview Bible Church. She served as missionary correspondent, toddler teacher and women's Bible study teacher over her many years of service.
One sister, Maxine Frank and several brothers and sisters-in-law preceded Lois in death.
One sister, Vera Jane Watson and her husband Taylor of Julian, survives her.
Lois was the mother of six children and is survived by all.
Melvin Lynn and his wife Gloria of Sautee, GA, Raymond K. and wife Nancy of LaPorte, IN, Larry D. and wife Jan of Gladstone, MO, Jeffrey B. of Bells Landing and his former wife Rebecca of Curwensville, Kathleen J. Lamoreau and husband Dennis of Clearfield, and Helen G. Rhine and husband John of Curwensville.
She was grandmother of seven grandsons and one granddaughter.
Micah L. Blowers and his fiancée Sarah and Stephen Blowers all of Gladstone, MO, Stuart Blowers and Victor Blowers both of Michigan City, IN, Justin Ogden of Clearfield, and Christina Rhine, Lewis Rhine and Adam Rhine, all of Curwensville.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Todd T. Hogue officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to a time and fellowship and luncheon at the Riverview Bible Church of Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday from 10-11 AM.
