Loren Green

Loren Ivan Green, 71, of West Decatur passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the UPMC Altoona.

He was born on October 29, 1951 in Lorain, OH, a son of the late Loren 'Rusty' and Marilyn (Baughman) Green.

Loren graduated from Hershey High School in 1969. He then moved to Clearfield and became a local contractor. For over 50 years he ran Green Contracting.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He caught fish and lobster from Florida to Alaska. He got the biggest buck of his life last fall. Sharing his love of the outdoors with his kids and grandkids was one of his biggest joys.

Loren was a member of and elder of the West Side Church of Christ where he taught bible class, led prayers, and sometimes preached. He was a committed Christian.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Maines) Green whom he wed July 19, 1986 in Clearfield; three daughters, Sarah Bordeaux and husband David of New Bern, NC, Autumn Schacht and husband Justin of Huntsville, AL, and Lauren Yankevich and husband Michael of Clearfield, PA; eight grandchildren, Hannah Simmons, Leah Jarman, Ethan Schacht, Mason Schacht, Jordan Schacht, Kameron Schacht, Ida Jane Schacht, Michaela Yankevich; two great-grandchildren, Marzia Simmons, and Henry Jarman, and one on the way; a sister, Kimberly Memmi; a sister-in-law, Wendy Green; and several nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Green; grandparents, Ivan and Faye Baughman, and Floyd and LeVoy Green.

A memorial service will be held at the West Side Church of Christ, Clearfield on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11 AM.

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
