Louis M. Hugar, 95, of Clearfield died on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Colonial Courtyard, Clearfield.
He was born on May 18, 1916 in Clearfield, a son of the late Charles John and Irene (Hehir) Hugar.
Mr. Hugar retired from PennDOT where he was a highway department worker for over 20 years. Prior to that, he was employed for 33 years by the Robison Clay Tile Plant, Clearfield as a laborer and a foreman where he started working at age 14.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors while hunting and fishing. He also loved working his vegetable garden and will be remembered for holding highest regards for a clean, well-maintained, and solid vehicle.
Mr. Hugar always had a special place in his heart for all animals, notably dogs.
He is survived by a daughter Diane Fitzgibbon and husband Larry of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Joelle Segrue and husband David of Lake in the Hills, IL; and two great grandsons, Thomas and Jeffrey Segrue.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. (Ardery) Hugar on July 5, 2007 and whom he married October 27, 1940 in St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield; and a brother John Charles Hugar.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
There will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg PA 16866.
