M. Joann Lanich, 74 of Clearfield died on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at her residence.

She was born on December 17, 1933 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Lester F. and Myrtle E. (Gearhart) Mann.

Mrs. Lanich was formerly employed by Bloom Insurance Co., John R. Crago, Inc., Lutheran Social Services and the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Ardery and husband Terry of Findlay, OH, Brenda McDowell and husband Kelly of Gainesville, FL and Beverly Schickling and husband Jerry of Clearfield; four grandchildren, Charity Selvage and husband Jeff, Tyler Ardery and wife Lindsey and Kyle and Kayla McDowell; three great-grandchildren; a sister and brother, Rose M. Raymond of Clearfield and Lester F. Mann II and wife Anita of Drifting and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo H. Lanich on November 7, 2007 and whom she wed on May 8, 1954 in Clearfield, and a sister, Elizabeth Triponey.

A memorial service will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Matthew C. Holbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 9-10:00 a.m.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 217 East Pine Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or to Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830
