Mae Whitehill

Mae I. Whitehill, 89, of Clearfield died on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

She was born on October 3, 1933 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice (McGraw) Turner.

Mrs. Whitehill was employed as a clerk at CVS Pharmacy, Clearfield. Prior to that, she worked as a clerk at the former Herb and Tom's Market and the former G.C. Murphy Co. She was also the manager at the former McGregor Sportswear outlet store, all of Clearfield. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

She is survived by her two children, Harvey Lee Whitehill III of Sonoma, CA, and Janet Brocious of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Sasha Ryan and husband Kevin of Clearfield, and Justin Brocious of Clearfield; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Ryan, Anna Ryan, Colton Ryan, and Sadie Ryan; and a close nephew, John Krolick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorraine Constant, LeDelle Dotts, and Jean Krolick; and two brothers, Jim Turner and Sandford Turner.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10 AM with Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and at the funeral home Thursday from 9-9:30

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
