Margaret L. Hetrick, 93, a resident of Broadmore Assisted Living in York for the last two years and formerly of Clearfield, PA died on Sunday September 30, 2007 at Manor Care South in the Bethany Unit, York.
She was born on September 12, 1914 in Morrisdale, PA, a daughter of the late Harry C. and Susan L.(O'Neill)Howe.
Mrs. Hetrick retired on November 30, 1992 after 22 years as a secretary for the Clearfield County Veteran's Administration. She had formerly been employed with the Selective Service System.
A 1933 graduate of Morris Township High School, she was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.
She was also a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540.
She is survived by two children, William Thomas Hetrick, Jr. of Union City and Susan Mafnas and husband Juan of York; 3 granddaughters, Michelle, Maggie and Sarah Mafnas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Hetrick on September 8, 1975 and whom she married in November of 1948.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Charles and Reene Howe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joseph C. Campbell as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Agnes Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9-9:30 a.m.
A Christian Vigil service will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 4:45 PM.
