Margaret H. Pontillo, 97
of Clearfield died on Monday, December 10, 2012.
She was born on May 14, 1915 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Tony and Tressa (Lombardo) Castagnolo.
Mrs. Pontillo was a homemaker, after having been employed at the former G C Murphy Co. earlier in her life.
She was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Hershberger and her husband Steve of Mantua, OH; her son, Eugene Pontillo and his wife Pamela of Falls Church, VA; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Pontillo on June 6, 2002 and whom she wed July 7, 1941 in St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister; her sister, Mary Tressa Castagnolo; and her brother, Joseph A. Castagnolo.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:30 am with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 am.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the Clearfield Foundation for Health - Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830.
