Marie R. Fontenoy, 82, of Clearfield and most recently a resident of Country Meadows Assisted Living, Mechanicsburg died on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Country Meadows.
She was born on October 30, 1924 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Jerome and Cecelia (Coudriet) Rougeux.
Mrs. Fontenoy retired in 1984 from the Clearfield County Vocational Technical School. Prior to that she had been employed by The Progress and Dr. Herbert J. Bacharach.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Franz of Erie, Barbara Poole and husband Richard of Camp Hill, and Suzanne Modlo and husband Mark of Erie; 6 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Wilfred Rougeux of Hamburg, NY; and and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Fontenoy on December 21, 2003 and whom she married August 8, 1942 in Frenchville, an infant brother Willard and sisters, June Marshall, Marguerete McKimm, Judith Feldbauer and Jean Kraft.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or to Odyssey Healthcare of Harrisburg, 4660 Trindle Road, Suite 204, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
