Marie Sansone

Marie Carmela Sansone, 83,

a native and lifelong resident of Clearfield, died on September 8, 2010 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Marie was born March 7, 1927 in Clearfield, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Rose Mary (Natoli) Sansone.

She was a graduate of St. Francis Catholic School and was an active lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Marie retired as a case work supervisor in the early 1980s from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare Office.
Marie was an active member of numerous church groups within her church. She was a past member of the board of directors and the former treasurer of the Community Concert Association, a volunteer worker at the Clearfield Hospital Gift Shop and active in Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed travel, reading, genealogy, bowling, tennis and was an avid sports fan.
She loved people, never knew a stranger and even though it may have been the first time she saw a person her conversations were such that they could have been lifelong friends.

Marie is survived by two sisters, Antoinette and her husband, Lewis C. Trout of Clearfield, Rosemary Sansone of Clearfield, a brother, Joseph Sansone and his wife Frances of Dayton, OHand their sons David and his partner Christophe and Nicholas and his wife Stephanie.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Margaret Sansone.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Church, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield.
