Martha F. 'Marty' Clarke, 65, of Clearfield died on Friday, October 4, 2013 at her home.
She was born on March 9, 1948 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Jacob, Jr. and Anne (Brubaker) Frantz.
Marty retired from teaching elementary school in the Clearfield Area School District after 35 1/2 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield where she sang in the Senior Church Choir, Psalm 151 and was active with the bell choir. Music was a life-long interest of hers as she was involved in band and chorus during her high school years and sang with the Clearfield Choral Society for many years.
She is survived by her husband Gregory A. Clarke whom she wed August 12, 1971 in Clearfield; three children, Joshua Paul Clarke of Pittsburgh, Christopher Joseph Clarke of Orlando, FL and Rachel Elizabeth Clarke of Clearfield; a grandson, Azaiah; and a brother, Jacob Paul Frantz III and wife Georgina of TX.
Funeral services will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 am with Pastor Robert J. Way officiating.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM and at church on Saturday from 9-10 AM.
