Martha A. Johnson, 88
of Harrisburg and formerly of Clearfield died on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was born on August 24, 1914 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late George and Laura (Miller) Jenkins.
Mrs. Johnson was employed at the Clearfield Hospital for 16 years.
She is survived by two daughters,
Martha A. Johnson Roberts and husband Albert Harrisburg
Anna K. Johnson Doss DeCarlo and husband Joseph New York, NY
three granddaughters,
Yaivette Roberts
Yonise Roberts Paige
Kimberly Doss
two great grandchildren,
Darnell Doss and Tyneice Doss
three great great grandsons,
Mecca Smith, Trevon Bonito and Zhry Schmittel,
a sister,
Nellie Jenkins Lawson Harrisburg
and a niece who served as her caregiver,
Bonnie Jenkins Reinke Clearfield
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Johnson, on March 4, 1985 and whom she married January 8, 1932 in Cumberland, MD
and a grandson Sean Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at Noon with Rev. Randy Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society , 119 East Market Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or Goodwill Industries, 511 Locust Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
