Mary H. Catalano, 89, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Altoona.
She was born on August 20, 1924 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Vincezo and Rose (Scordino) Parlavecchio.
Mrs. Catalano was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the former Martha Washington Lodge in Clearfield.
She is survived by five children, James Catalano and wife Joyce of West Decatur, Regina Modzel and husband Greg of Morrisdale, Mark Catalano and wife Kristy of Howard, Donald Catalano and wife Freida of Clearfield and Michael Catalano of Clearfield; ten grandchildren, Lisa, Donald, Nancy, Tina, Toni, Heather, Daniel, Joseph, Medea and McKenzie; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo J. Catalano on February 23, 1998 and whom she wed June 16, 1946. She was also preceded in death four brothers, Joe, Carmen, Tony and Domonic; and a sister, Sarah.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 am with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 9:00-9:30 AM.
At the funeral home on Friday, a Christian Vigil service will be held at 1:45 pm and the Rosary will be recited at 5:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of donor's choice.
