Mary I. Decker, 82, of Curwensville died on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on August 16, 1928 in Murrysville, a daughter of the late Clifford and Frances (Fruchtel) Parker.
Mrs. Decker retired from the former Kent’s Sportswear, Curwensville.
She was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, the Curwensville Town Choir and the Ladies Coffee Bowling League.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Decker of Antelope, CA and Evan Decker of Luthersburg; four grandchildren; and a sister Norma Jean Jones of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Decker in 1986 whom she married September 5, 1948 in Curwensville and a brother and a sister, Clifford Parker and Alice Kohler.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chuck Taber officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 – 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville Presbyterian Church, 420 Locust Street, Curwensville or to the Curwensville Town Choir, c/o Doug Beard, 201 Beaver Ridge Lane, Curwensville.
