Mary Jane Gillingham, 69, of Grampian died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the home of her son in Grampian.
She was born on October 24, 1940 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Wisor) Hand.
Mrs. Gillingham was employed at the former Kent Sportswear and for the former Shortway Products, Inc.
She was Methodist by faith.
She is survived by a son, Richard C. Gillingham, Jr. and hiw wife, Carolyn, of Grampian; four grandchildren, Richard Gillingham, III, and his fiancé, Amanda Ickes, Tiffany Louise Gillingham and her fiancé, Mike Dixon, Candace Marie Gillingham, and Clarissa Mae Gillingham; five great grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters, Harold Hand and his wife, Patricia, of NC, Ed Hand and his wife Margaret of Clearfield, John Hand and his wife, Jeanne, of Clearfield, Robert Hand of Clearfield, David Hand and his wife, Wendy, of Woodland, Barbara Gillingham of Clearfield, Sara Swanson and her husband, Tom, of Bigler, and Eileen 'Emily' Kelley of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Gillingham, Sr., February 14, 2000 and whom she married November 3, 1962 in Clearfield and a brother-in-law, Joseph Gillingham.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at
11:00 AM with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday from
10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
