Mary Ann Jones, 84 of Falls Church, VA died on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Rockville Nursing Home, Rockville, MD.
She was born on November 28, 1924 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Louis and Maria (Colantuoni) Pontillo.
Mrs. Jones was employed as an executive secretary by the federal government.
She was a member of the St. Philip Catholic Church, Falls Church, VA.
She is survived by a son,
James Jones and partner Linda Tsantis of Rockville, MD
three brothers,
Joseph J. Pontillo of Houston, TX
Carmen N. Pontillo of Bayonne, NJ
Emelio 'Mel' Pontillo of Monaca, PA
and seventeen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Jones on November 22, 1993 and whom she married November 24, 1945 in Clearfield, two brothers Vincent E. 'Jimmy' and Frank L. Pontillo and two sisters Rose Varchetti and Fausta 'Flossie' Chillemi.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Joseph C. Campbell as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Philip Catholic Church, 7506 St. Philip Court, Falls Church, VA 22042.
