Mary Louise Miele, 89, of Clearfield died on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.
She was born on June 16, 1916 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Julius and Sarahfine (Mauro) Marinoble.
Mrs. Miele retired in 1981 as a Clerk Typist II from the Department of Public Assistance in Clearfield. She had also worked for the PA State Employment Service in DuBois as District Secretary. In addition, she was a stenographer in the Auditor General's Department in Harrisburg.
She was a 1934 graduate of Clearfield High School and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was a member and past president of the Rosary and Altar Society of the Church. She was also a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 Auxiliary, AFSCME Chapter 13 and the American Association of Retired People. She was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program serving the Clearfield Hospital, the Clearfield County Historical Society and the Clearfield Senior Citizens Center.
Most recently, Mrs. Miele was a resident of Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
She is survived by five children, Madeline S. Miele of Pittsburgh, Andrea J. McDonald and husband Jerry of St. Pete Beach, FL, Gerard M. Miele and wife Catherine of Erie, David J. Miele of Pittsburgh and Paul A. Miele and wife Susan of Louisville, KY; 5 grandchildren, Caitlin McDonald, Michael and Kelly Miele and Matthew and Christopher Miele; four sisters, Catherine 'Kay' Beddes and husband Joseph of Naples, FL, Teresa M. Koontz of Clearfield, Eleanor Shifter and husband Clyde of Clearfield, and Crementine DeLarme and husband Dale of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Armando Miele on October 17, 1989 and whom she married January 22, 1940 in St. Francis Church, Clearfield, a grandson James McDonald, a sister Sally Catalano and three brothers, James, Nick and Joe Marinoble.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:45 PM
