Mary Santinoceto, 92, most recently of Camp Hill and formerly of Clearfield died on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Healthsouth Mechanicsburg Rehab System, Mechanicsburg.
She was born on September 4, 1914 in Lumber City, a daughter of the late Antonino and Antonina (Accordino) Curtorillo.
Mrs. Santinoceto was the owner of the former Santinoceto's Market, Clearfield. Being in the grocery store business for over half a century didnt seem like hard work to her because she and her husband, Joseph worked together until his death in 1959. She continued to run the business until her retirement in 1984.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Martha Washington Lodge #1525, Clearfield and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #498.
She is survived by four children, Ann M. Santinoceto of Camp Hill, Ignatius J. Santinoceto and wife Rosemary of Carlisle, Anthony N. Santinoceto of Wheeling, WV, Joseph D. Santinoceto and wife Phyllis of Johnstown; nine grandchildren, Carol Dukes and husband Mike of Carlisle, Linda McCracken and husband Bill of Danville, CA, Lisa Hutchings and husband Joseph of Omaha, NE, Kathy Blanchette and husband Tim of Fort Worth, TX, Nicholas L. Santinoceto of Clearfield, Christopher R. Santinoceto of Wheeling, WV, Joseph D. Santinoceto, Jr. of Wheeling, WV, Phillip Santinoceto of Johnstown, Michelle Santinoceto of Johnstown; 10 great-grandchildren, David and Eric Dukes of Carlisle, Nick, Sarah and Rachael McCracken, Danville, CA, Jack, Angela and Francisca Hutchings of Omaha, NE, Katilyn and Gabrielle Santinoceto of Wheeling, WV; two sisters, Margaret Danes Flask of Sun City, AZ, Sara Rizzi of Sun City, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Santinoceto on August 30, 1959 and whom she married April 27, 1929 in Clearfield, a daughter Carmella Santinoceto, a son Carmen P. Santinoceto, a granddaughter Anne Santinoceto, two sisters, Mary Santinoceto and Angeline Accordino and a brother Phillip Curtorillo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to ones own church.
