Mary J. Shanechuck, 73
of 506 Chester Street, Clearfield died on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital.
She was born on July 4, 1930 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Maloney) Biancuzzo.
Mrs. Shanechuck retired from Bayer Clothing, Fletcherville in 2000 after 19 years of service. Prior to that, she worked at McGregor Sportswear for 19 years and the Clearfield Hospital for 14 years.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar Society and the Bereavement Committee, both of the church, the Catholic Daughters of America Court 498 and the Martha Washington Lodge #1525, Order of Sons of Italy. She also belonged to the Elk Hose Co. Auxiliary and volunteered at the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging and the Henry E. Meyers Towers.
She is survived by a son,

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shanechuck on
February 9, 1977 and whom she married September 3, 1955 in Ramey, two brothers Joe and Frank Biancuzzo, and a sister Nicolette 'Lena' Casher.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Marys Ukranian Catholic Church Cemetery, Ramey.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from
2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 9 until 9:30 AM.
On Friday at the funeral home, the rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM followed by a memorial service said by the members of the Catholic Daughters of America and at 8:00 PM a Christian Vigil Service will be said.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis School, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield.
