Mary Sorbera, 97

of Clearfield died on Monday, November 24, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on March 13, 1906 in Morrisdale, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Janniello) Pratt.

Mrs. Sorbera was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Martha Washington Lodge #1525, Order Sons of Italy, Clearfield.

She is survived by eight children,

Rose Seaber and husband George Toms River, NJ
Palma Sansone and husband Sam Linden, NJ
Josephine Cordy Girard, OH
Margaret Pezza and husband Pat Wellingboro, NJ
Philip Sorbera and wife Charlotte Linden, NJ
Evelyn McCartney and husband Paul State College
Raymond Sorbera and wife Linda Clearfield

16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren,

a brother,
James Pratt NJ

and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ignazio Sorbera, on February 2, 1967 and whom she married July 31, 1923, a son Anthony Sorbera, two grandchildren, a great grandson and these brothers and sisters, Nick Pratt, John Pratt, William Pratt, Raymond Pratt, Angeline Yankevich and Evelyn Sorbera.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at
1:30 P.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 3-8:00 PM and on Wednesday from Noon – 1:00 PM.

A Christian vigil service will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield or to the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield.
