Mary Zitzelberger, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Colonial Courtyard, Clearfield.
Mrs. Zitzelberger was born February 27, 1933, in Liverpool, England, the daughter of the late Robert Mullen and Mary (Morgan) Mullen.
She was employed at Clearfield Dairy and The Progress newspaper. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles and cooking. She loved spending time with family. She served on the CAST board and acted in CAST plays as well as being part of the Clearfield Women's Club. Mrs. Zitzelberger was a member of St. Francis Clearfield Church, Clearfield as well as the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteering in the St. Francis School Cafeteria.
She is survived by four children, Charles 'Rick' 'Zeke' Zitzelberger Jr. and wife Leslie of Clearfield, Helen Howell and husband Colin of Clearfield, Rita Crotzer and husband Dennis of Clearfield, and Katherine Motter and husband Robert of Bellefonte; nine grandchildren, Charles III, Christopher and wife Andrea, James, Mary Jane, Margaret Anne, Juliana and husband Tony, Marisa and husband Travis, Allison and husband Eric, and Andrew and wife Alexandra; six great grandchildren, Atlas, Rowan, Reese, Aidan, Anneliese, Olivia; and a sister, Anne Hampton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Zitzelberger on January 9, 2022 and whom she married on November 28, 1953; a daughter, Paula Barrett; a granddaughter, Lindsay Motter; and two sisters, Christina Mullen and Margaret Howell.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10 AM with Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield, Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4-7 PM and Friday 9-9:30 AM.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis School, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or the Ronald McDonald House, 451 44th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
