Maxine Owens

March 25, 1929 — May 31, 2024

Maxine Owens, 95, of Woodland died on Friday, May 31, 2024 peacefully at her home with family.

She was born on March 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Clark and Lena (Wisor) Williams. She was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and was Protestant in faith.

She enjoyed the outdoors, including wildlife, her flowers, and bird watching from her gazebo. She had traveled to all 50 states with her husband. In recent years she found joy in sudoku puzzles and reading. Through it all she enjoyed her coffee and her family - being a mother and a Nana for over 68 years.

She will be remembered for her delicious homemade meals, being an excellent seamstress, leaving beautiful quilts made from start to finish for each member of the family, and for, along with her husband, being loving, caring, and providing parents and grandparents for 3 generations.

She is survived by two children, Craig Owens and wife Sharon, and Eunice Libreatori and husband David; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Owens; four grandchildren, Derek Owens and wife Jessica, Lance Owens, Brandon Owens and fiance Gregory all of Woodland, and Lindsay Owens of Schenectady, NY; four great grandchildren, Abrielle, Thane, Bennett, and Madelyn; a sister, Marjorie Smeal of Clearfield; and a close nephew Mark Dixon of Buffalo, NY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Owens on August 10, 2017 to whom she was married for almost 68 years, and a son, Mark R. Owens on May 9, 2021. She was also preceded in death by a close nephew, Rian Dixon and three sisters, Patricia Wallace, Faye English, and Geneva Snyder; and two brothers, Clair and Marvin Williams.

Funeral services will be private with Pastor Brenda LIbreatori officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
