Melvin 'Lynn' Smith

Melvin “Lynn” Smith, 44, ended his earthly life on Tuesday, February 21st in Curwensville, PA, following a period of longtime suffering from addiction.

Lynn was born on February 13, 1979 in DuBois, PA, to Mary and Melvin Smith of Clearfield, PA. Lynn was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology to be a machinist.

The family has many fond memories of Lynn. He was funny, athletic, and mischievous, and he had overcome many hurdles in his life, including cancer. He loved to draw, fish, kayak, and snowboard. Lynn loved spending time with his daughter, Evvy, and her two younger brothers very much, and we all loved him and will miss him dearly.

Lynn was recently preceded in death by his father, Mel Smith, on December 4, 2022. His grandparents, John and Peggy Schenk and Don and Lucille Smith, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Smith, his daughter, Evelynn (Evvy) Smith and her mother Jennifer Johnson, and his sister, Melanie Smith. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday at 7:00 pm with Raymond Stiner officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-7 PM.
