Mildred R. 'Milly' Johnson, 89, of Curwensville died on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on June 9, 1931 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Dorsey and Thelma (Way) Bloom.
Mrs. Johnson was employed at the former Leitzinger's Department Store as a seamstress for 15 years. She had also taught home economics for 20 years at various times in the area.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grampian and the church women's organization.
She is survived by three children, Lisa Duttry and husband Marty of Olanta, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Cynthia of Curwensville, and Mark Johnson and wife Denise of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren, Lindsay Holmes, Derrik Holmes, April Danzy, Dustin Johnson, Casey Johnson, and Megan Johnson; four step grandchildren, Melanie Page, Jennifer McKenney, Joshua Duttry, and Lucas Duttry; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Lininger or Tyler, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel R. 'Aws' Johnson on April 1, 2014 and whom she wed July 25, 1953 in Curwensville; a son, Daniel Johnson; and a grandson, Cody Johnson; and two sisters, Beatrice Meljac and Joyce Knepp.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, services will be private. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833; or to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 72 N. Sixth Street, Grampian, PA 16838.
