Mona Roat

Mona L. Roat, 93

of 308 Thompson Street, Curwensville died on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Marion Manor II.

She was born on April 8, 1910 in Pavia, PA, a daughter of the late Vern B. and Della S. (Corle) Long.

Mrs. Roat retired as a teacher from the Curwensville Area School District after 42 years of service.
She was a graduate of the Indiana Normal School and was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teachers. She was also a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, the Curwensville Women's Club, the Pike Township Historical Society and the Penn State Nittany Lion's Club.

She is survived by a sister,
Sara L. Bartell Curwensville

and a niece,
Kay Selner and her husband Barry Curwensville

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Vernon Roat on September 7, 2001 and whom she married in 1933.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday at
10:00 A.M. with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8:00 PM and on Saturday from
9-10:00 AM.
