N. Kay Selner

N. Kay Selner , 67

of Curwensville died on Monday, April 23, 2012 at her home.

She was born on March 25, 1945 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Bernard and Grace (Gelnette) Gifford. Shortly after birth, Kay was adopted by the late Nile Hugo and Sara Jane (Long) Bartell.

Kay was the longtime owner of Kay's Quilters Stash, Curwensville and part owner of Market Street, Clearfield. She retired from Central PA Community Action, Clearfield and previously had been employed at the Leitzinger's Department Store and Sherwin Williams, both of Clearfield. She had also taught in the Curwensville and DuBois School Systems. Kay will be remembered as an avid crafter of all varieties, with a special passion for quilting.
She was a former member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Barry A. Selner whom she wed November 23, 1965 in Cumberland, MD; three children Della A. Selner and husband Boyd O'Hara of Scotland, PA, Dr. Rev. Greg A. Selner and wife Pattie of Irvona and Kristen Marie Albert and husband Marcus of Munich, Germany; eight grandchildren Danielle Kay Selner, Lauren A. Kirkpatrick, Nicholas A. and Benjamin W. Selner, Katherine A. O'Hara, Sara C. Selner and Stephan and Isabelle Albert; a great grandson Victor M. Oquendo III; and a sister and two brothers, Sharon McGauhey of NC, Richard 'Dick' Lansberry of Indianapolis, IN and Larry Simms of NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Lena Gail Lansberry and four brothers Bernard, Edward, Ward Jr. and Cloyd Lansberry.

A memorial service will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church, Curwensville on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Robert S. Ludrowsky officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice .
