Naomi E. Butterworth, 82
of 1110 Walton Street, Philipsburg died on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at Philipsburg Area Hospital.
She was born on September 6, 1920 in Decatur Township, PA a daughter of the late Aaron H. and Kathryn C. (Hastings) Twist.
Mrs. Butterworth was employed at the former Leitzinger's Department Store in Clearfield during the 1950's and at the Clearfield Mall Hallmark Card Shop until her retirement in 1981.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Philipsburg and a former member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Clearfield and St. Savior Church of Gearhartville, where she sang in the choir of both churches. She was also a member of the Chester Hill Mother's Club.
She is survived by her husband, Merle Butterworth, whom she married September 15, 1994 in Winburne,

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Philip J. Mitchell on June 3, 1989, a son Jack Mitchell, two brothers Walter and Nicholas Twist and two sisters Kathryn Fisher and Vivian Twist.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at
10:00 AM with Rev. David Robson officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from
2-4:00 and 7-9:00 PM.
