Nina P. Johnston, 94
of Sixth Street, Grampian died on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on March 3, 1910 in Curry Run, a daughter of the late Daniel and Maude (Newcomer) Nolan, Sr.
Mrs. Johnston was the owner of Nina's Beauty Shop for nearly seventy years, having begun her business in Curry Run, then moving to Hepburnia and finally to Grampian.
She attended Bells Landing Baptist Church and St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grampian.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Johnston, whom she married in 1940 in the Bells Landing Baptist Church by the Rev. Cora Ardary.
She is also survived by a son,
David Johnston and wife Margaret Bells Landing
two grandchildren,
Kelly Ann and Scott
one great-granddaughter,
two sisters,
Elaine Michael Clearfield
Dortha Schenton CT
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alden Johnston on July 15, 1992, a brother Daniel Nolan, Jr., five sisters, Wilma Henry, Glenora Aue, Hermine Bell, Eleanor Johnson and Genevieve Dickey.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
