Nina Reed

Nina E. Reed, 76, of Clearfield died on Monday, December 25, 2006 at her residence.

She was born on April 28, 1930 in Pottersdale, a daughter of the late Clyde and Lavina Ethel (Moore) Heichel.

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker. She was previously employed at the Clearfield Dairy, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540 and Gilberts Store.

She is survived by five children, Cheryl Jean Bird and husband Mike of Columbus, OH, Paula Queen and husband Eric of Curwensville, David H. Gilbert and wife Cheryl of Utah, Peggy Broad and husband William of Glen Richey and Judi Ward and husband Harry of Mineral Springs; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Showden of Clearfield; a sister in law, Ruth Heichel of Luthersburg; a brother in law, Ike Showden of New Bethlehem;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. 'Frank' Reed on October 24, 2001 and whom she married October 14, 1977 at the Saddle Club, Wallaceton, four sisters, Inez Hertlein, Freida Kelly, Edra Malizia, Ruth Showden, and five brothers, Oliver Heichel, Maurice Heichel, Gerald Heichel, Sr., Carl Heichel, and Eugene Heichel.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tony S. Searles officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and on Friday from 10-11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Nathaniel D. Yingling, MD Cancer Center, % Terri Polachek, Clearfield Hospital, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield PA 16830.
