Norma Esther Cathcart

Norma Esther Cathcart, 88, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Apple Blossom Senior Living, Coraopolis, PA.

Mrs. Cathcart was born in Clearfield on September 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Aurther 'Dutch' and Esther Clark (Norris) Neeper.

Norma was a member, as well as a former employee, of the Curwensville United Methodist Church. She was also employed at Riverside Market Bakery for several years. Norma loved to cook, bake and garden; tending her beautiful flowers, visiting birds and landscape with loving care. Her greatest joy came in raising her children and spending time with her extended family.

Mrs. Cathcart is survived by three children, Chrystine (Pat) Leonard of Aliquippa, Max 'Mike' Cathcart of Curwensville, and Andrea (John) Cathcart-McIntosh of Honeoye, NY; three grandchildren, Nicole Ann (Leonard) Cutter, Gregory (Erica) Leonard, and Chasity Chantel Cathcart-Barrett; eight great grandchildren, Matthew Vorderbrueggen, Christian (Grayce) Cutter, Alaina Vorderbrueggen, Emilee Cutter, Madison Carlson, Andrea Carlson, Maxell Leonard and Esa Leonard; and one great-great grandchild Roman Vorderbrueggen. She is also survived by a brother, Leonard (Esther) Neeper of Luthersburg.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Alden Cathcart, whom she wed on June 9, 1956 in Curwensville; a granddaughter, Melissa Anne Carlson; brothers, James and Lester and sisters, Mary "Evelyn" Smith, Ann Pierson, and Rose Coy.

A funeral service will be held at the Curwensville United Methdoist Church on Wednesday, January 15th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Don Smith officiating.

A visitation will be held at the church before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville immediately following the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville United Methodist Church, The Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
