Norman Dixon

Norman L. Dixon, 70, of Clearfield died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his home.

He was born on November 16, 1946 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Chalmer B. and Norma (Beach) Dixon.

Norm retired from Kurtz Brothers after driving truck for 28 years. In his retirement, he served as the sexton at West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield. Norm was a member of Mount Joy United Methodist Church, Clearfield.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia A. (Ogden) Dixon whom he wed on August 12, 1967 in Clearfield; two children, Brian Dixon and companion Emily Addleman of Clearfield, and Kimberly Michelucci and husband Mark of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Morgan Dixon, Hunter Dixon and Gavin Hrzic; four brothers, Donald Dixon and wife Kay of VA, Marvin Dixon and wife Pam of CA, Chalmer 'Mouse' Dixon and wife Helen of Philipsburg, and Bob Dixon and wife Georgia of MI; three sisters, Paula Hamilton and companion Richard of WI, Betty Krause and husband Larry of Philipsburg, and Sandy Gustkey and husband George of Houtzdale; two sister-in-laws, Karen Doll and husband Fred of NY and Debbie Adams and husband Dennis of Clearfield; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Dixon.

Funeral services will be held at the Mount Joy United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 4-8 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st Street, Clearfield or to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield.
