Olive L. Haney, 83, of Curwensville died on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on April 13, 1938 in New Millport, a daughter of the late Byron and Ethel (Swatsworth) Sloppy.
When Olive's son was young, she was a caregiver for her nieces, Rhonda and RaeAnn. She then worked at Superior Pet Products until its closing. She later worked at Paris Cleaners then began cleaning on her own. Olive cared for her mother for many years after her father's passing.
Olive loved to dance, swim, and mow grass.
She is survived by her son, Randy D. Sloppy and wife Debra of Curwensville; two grandchildren, Jilynn Hess and husband Ryan of Curwensville, and Randy B. Sloppy of New Millport; three great-grandchildren, Cayden R. Sloppy, Colyn E. Sloppy, and Kaeza R. Hess; two brothers, Jerry Sloppy and wife Elaine of New Millport, and Merv Sloppy and wife Nancy of Clearfield; a sister, Shirley Cowfer and husband Fred of New Millport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ester Sloppy, Helen 'Betty' Bloom, and Virginia Barrett.
Honoring Olive's wishes, there will be no public services.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
