Patricia Hatten Litz, 70, of Spring Mills died Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home after a 22 month battle with appendiceal cancer.
Born Dec. 25, 1950 in Grampian, PA, she was the daughter of James Carl and Martha (Danvir) Hatten.
Mrs. Litz met her husband, Mounty, while they were both attending Penn State University Dubois campus. She earned her Masters Degree in Special Education, and went on to teach for 28 years.
She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Spring Mills.
She loved reading and cooking and spent much of her time curled up with a book or in the kitchen perfecting her recipes. She enjoyed gardening and identifying wild flowers while on walks with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Delores Hatten; and a nephew James “Jim” Hatten.
Surviving are her husband Mounty; her eldest son Adam Litz and his wife Sarah; her youngest son Brice Litz; and her five brothers and sisters, Norman E. Hatten Sr, Joanne Nelen, Judy McCombs, James “Terry” Hatten, and Karen Hatten.
There will be no services held at this time out of respect to public health and safety.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
