Patrick Fitzgibbon

Patrick J. Fitzgibbon, 79,of Frenchville, died on Saturday, April 12, 2014 in southern New Jersey near his family.

He was born on August 6, 1934 in Dover, NJ, a son of the late John and Margaret (Vallimont) Fitzgibbon.

Pat was retired from the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper. He enjoyed watching football, rooting the most for the Eagles, Steelers and Penn State. He enjoyed social gatherings with friends and family around the campfire and at the 'homestead cabin'.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville. He was also a member of the Mosquito Creek and Sinnemahoning Sportsmen's Clubs, Quehanna Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by two children, Patrick Fitzgibbon and wife Kelly of CA and Erin Tallant and husband Mark of Glassboro, NJ; their mother Barbara Fitzgibbon; eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly; and a brother and five sisters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Fitzgibbon; three brothers and two sisters.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville, on Wednesday at 3:00 PM with Rev. David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 2-3 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, PO Box 159, Frenchville, PA 16836.
