Paul Gary Pecharko, 52 of Clearfield died on Friday, August 26, 2005 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born on January 13, 1953 in Philipsburg, a son of Paul M. and Mary (Hartle) Pecharko of Kylertown.
Mr. Pecharko had been the Executive Director and Secretary of the Clearfield County Housing Authority for the past 30 years with exemplary performance during his tenure period. He administered many varied housing programs to provide much needed assistance to low income elderly persons and families throughout Clearfield County.
He was a member and training chairman of the Western PA Housing Director Association for the past 23 years.
He was a current member of the PA Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies where he served as a board member, as chairman of the State Civil Service Commission Committee and on the Professional Development Committee.
He was awarded the Certificate of Superior Accomplishment by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Pittsburgh Field Office.
He was a member of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.
He graduated from West Branch High School in 1970 and from Penn State University in 1974.
He was a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the Clearfield County League on Social Services, the FEMA Funding Board and was an Advisory Board member of the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging.
A Third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 409, Clearfield, he served as Grand Knight in 1978, 1979 and 1980.
Also, he was a past member of the St. Francis Parish Council.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Gail Sabol and husband William of Shady Acres, Morrisdale, his companion, Elizabeth Bussard of Clearfield
and several aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Gregory A. Kirsch as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Agnes Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from
2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Wednesday from 9 - 10:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, RD# 3, Box 86, Philipsburg PA 16866 or to the charity of one's choice.
