Paul L. Rishell, 96

of 501 Park Avenue, Clearfield died on Monday, August 2, 2004 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on January 5, 1908 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harry L. and Alice V. (Haney) Rishell.

Mr. Rishell was a member of the IBEW Local #5 performing electrical work at Penn State University and the Shawville Power Plant, retiring in 1973. In his earlier years he was employed by Harbison-Walker Refractories, Cape May, NJ.
He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield for 66 years, a member of the Clearfield Free and Accepted Masons Noble Lodge #480, the Jaffa Temple, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, the Clearfield Shriner’s Club, and was a band leader for many years for the Clearfield Shriner’s Club Oriental Band. Mr. Rishell was also a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540 and a member of the Clearfield Ganado Investment Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. (Cramer) Rishell, whom he married March 1, 1991 in the chapel of the Presbyterian Church, Clearfield,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Valerie (Balum) Rishell on May 5, 1982, four brothers, Lester Haney, Stanley L., Druard A. and Charles B. Rishell and a sister Pearl Hubbard.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9:00 PM and on Friday from
10-11:00 AM

On Thursday at the funeral home, a Masonic service will be held at 6:30 PM followed by a memorial service by the members of the Clearfield Elks Lodge.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Jaffa Temple, PO Box 1984, Altoona PA 16603 or Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield or to the charity of one’s choice.
