Pauline Cerchiaro

Pauline A. Cerchiaro, 91, of Clearfield died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born on February 8, 1922 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes (Santora) Martin.

Mrs. Cerchiaro graduated from St. Francis High School, Clearfield in 1941 and later was employed as an executive secretary at the Harrisburg State Capitol.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Rosary and Altar Society. Mrs. Cerchiaro was a charter member of the Ladies Italian American Club in Rahway, NJ and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Clearfield.

She is survived by her brother, Frank V. Martin of Manahawken, NJ and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo F. Cerchiaro on July 26, 1999 and whom she wed February 19, 1944 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Philmenia Chillemi.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 1:30 PM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 12-1 PM .

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to AARP, PO Box 93207, Long Beach, CA 90809-3207 or to the Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street Clearfield..
