Pearl I. (Curry) McFadden, 97, of Curwensville, died Friday, January 27, 2006 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on June 4, 1908 at home on the Curry Farm in Greenwood Township, a daughter of the late John Henderson and Myrtle Vida (Wriglesworth) Curry.
Mrs. McFadden was a homemaker and a graduate of the DuBois Business College.
She was the oldest living member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where she had taught kindergarten Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Progressors Sunday school class, the Quilting Friendship Club and the Clearfield Chapter #379 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three children, John McFadden of Curwensville, Betty Barkley and husband Richard of Clearfield, Doris Kolbe and husband Richard of Curwensville, seven grandchildren, Jill Milliron and husband Joseph, Robert McFadden and wife Sally, Dana Haley and husband Todd, Darlene Ardary and husband Bryan, Michael Johnson and wife Barbara, John Johnson and wife April, James Barkley and wife Lori, thirteen great- grandchildren, Nathan Milliron, Ryan Haley, Matthew Milliron, Scott Haley, Lacey McFadden, Vanessa Johnson, Alyssa Ardary, Brett McFadden, Rebecca Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Eliza Ardary, Conor Johnson, and Brynna Barkley, a brother and two sisters, Lex Curry and wife Roxie, Helen Addleman, and Ruth Curry, all of Curwensville, and a niece, Diana Lea Owens and husband Jim of Punxsutawney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Scott McFadden in April of 1978 and whom she married December 24, 1930 in Clearfield. Also by a daughter Judith Johnson, a daughter in- law Margaret (Bloom)McFadden, a great-grandson Corey Milliron, a sister Electa Cleaver and brothers, Charles, Ralph and Raymond Curry.
Funeral services will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Monday from 2-5 & 7-9 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10-11:00 AM.
A Eastern Star memorial service will be said at the funeral home on Monday at 6:45 PM.
