Pearle E. Barrett, 87, formerly of Mahaffey and most recently a resident of the Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville died on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the center.
She was born on June 26, 1920 in Bells Landing, a daughter of the late Carl Isaac and Wilda Mae (Johnston) Kester.
Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and a member of the Bells Landing Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Nancy Barrett and husband Glenn of Curwensville, Leah Mae Dimmick and husband Donald of Curwensville, John Carl Barrett and wife Desiree of Curwensville and David Earl Barrett and wife Rhonda of Mahaffey; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, a brother and sister, Gilbert Kester of Marshalltown, IA and Thelma McGarvey of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Barrett whom she married on August 18, 1951, an infant son and daughter and a brother and sister, John and Marie.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will follow in the Watts Cemetery, Curwensville R.D.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Bells Landing Baptist Church, 6411 Mahaffey Grampian Highway, Mahaffey, PA 15757.
