Philip Orlosky

Philip C. Orlosky, 87 of Lititz died on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Moravian Manor in Lititz.

He was born on September 25, 1921 in Olanta, a son of the late Harry and Mary (Stunko) Chuhur.

Mr. Orlosky retired from Bradford Coal Company. Prior to that he was employed by various coal companies including, CG Thompson, Ryan Brothers, Peacock and Kerr, and Penn Brook and Supply. He loved sharing stories of his service in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression working in New Mexico, Espinola and Clearfield. He also helped in the building of the Curwensville Dam. He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his always abundant crop of garlic.
Mr. Orlosky was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Lititz and a former member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
He also was a member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #812, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1463, Lititz and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Council #409 and the Lititz Council #10827.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Belinda) Orlosky, whom he wed in 1957,

two children,
William J. Orlosky and wife Dawn of Lititz
Barbara (Orlosky) Eckles and husband Bill of Neffsville

a grandson,
Scott Shirey

and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy C. Orlosky and brothers, Peter, George, Michael and John Orlosky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from
2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 9-9:30 AM

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:45 PM.
