Phyllis Ghaner, 75, of West Decatur passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at her daughter's home.
She was born on August 27, 1947 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Franklin 'Kutch' Libreatori and Doloris (McTigue) Shaw and her husband Russel Shaw.
Phyllis taught dance for 56 years and was the owner of the Shaw Ghaner School of Dance. Dance was her life and she enjoyed the children that she taught. She made an impact on many children's lives and always said, "We teach the best people in the world, your children."
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield; Dance Educators of America; and Dance Masters of America
She is survived by her children, Heather Ireland and husband Chris, and Harry Ghaner Jr. and wife Diane; six grandchildren, Victoria Ireland and fiancé William Myers, Devynn Ireland, Kait Ireland, Curtis Ireland, Haidyn Ghaner, and Casey Wilsoncroft; two great-grandchildren, Colton Ireland and Christopher Ireland; a brother, Frankie Shaw; a sister, Shawn Shaw; and a nephew, Ian Shaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ghaner Sr. on March 9, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frankalee D. Nixon and Franquline Rae Libreatori.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10 AM with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.
