Preston Michael, 75
of Collins Avenue, Clearfield died on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
He was born on May 25, 1929 in DuBois, a son of the late Elmer C. and Josephine (Hartzfeld) Michael.
Mr. Michael was formerly employed with Beard Oil Co., Petrolec and Clearfield Oil and Gas.
He was a 1947 graduate of Clearfield High School, a life member of the Clearfield Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Co. #5 and a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540.
Mr. Michael was a baseball umpire throughout central PA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A member of the American Legion, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Krebs) Michael, whom he married February 23, 1957 in St. Francis Church, Clearfield

and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Msgr. Henry L. Krebs officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 - 8:00 PM and on Friday from
9:30 - 10:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Lawrence Township Recreation Park, care of Larry Putt, 315 Poplar Avenue, Clearfield.
